Almost any surface. Like all Vare architectural vents, this product is fully compatible with tile, hardwood, carpet, vinyl, laminate, cork, and more. For the Luxe series, your surface material must be between ⅛” and ⅞” thick.
When should the Flush Floor Vent be installed?
The Flush Floor Vent must be installed before your finished flooring is laid. The vent base is undermounted directly to the subfloor or installed alongside a waterproof membrane, depending on your specific flooring application. If your finished floor is already installed, you will need to specify a retrofit model like the Vare Framed Floor Vent.
Will this product work with my HVAC system?

This specific model is a recessed floor vent designed to accommodate heavy materials like tile and solid wood. It can be installed on floors as well as tiled or wood-paneled walls. It is not compatible with drywall and should not be used on ceilings. For flush drywall and ceiling applications, specify the Vare Flush Wall Vent.
Is this product easy to install?
The Flush Floor Vent is an architectural fixture that requires professional installation during the building or subfloor preparation phase. Integrated leveling screws are included to assist contractors in achieving a perfectly flush, premium finish.
Do you make custom sizes or colors?
We do not offer custom manufacturing for sizes or colors. Instead, Vare vents are specifically designed to be customized on-site using a remnant of your actual flooring material. By cutting and installing your material directly into the insert tray, the vent achieves an exact color and texture match, hiding in plain sight. We stock a comprehensive range of dimensions to accommodate all standard HVAC openings.
